StaX filter for SDLXLIFF has from long time possibility to search for the correct prefix for a tag. But due to the way SDLXLIFF is organised, as tag definition occurs long way before the tag is really used, this requires to keep in memory the full contents of the tag.
Previously this was done as XML events, but when you use a very big SDLXLIFF file, the memory can be full even before you read only one single segment. This typically happens when Word or Excel files contain tables with repetitions (note that we speak about Microsoft files in SDLXLIFF, not about the native StaX filter for them!): SDLXLIFF does never compress tags, it duplicates the tags for each segment even when they are identical.
Just in case there are inconvenients in this method, the old release 2.0.3 is still available.
