OmegaT communicates with the server via a plugin and, since each project may connect to a different database, all information about which database to connect to has to be provided in a properties file, which is in the project itself :
For translation memory mode, anywhere in the tm/ directory: the name of the file can be anything you want, with the properties extension, but this name will really be used and it will also be displayed in the Fuzzy Matches pane (and used as sort criteria, when entries with the same source segment are found in other memories of the project);
For glossaries, anywhere in the glossary directory. To make it writeable, simply set it as main glossary in the properties window of your project: the plugin will detect the .properties extension and call the server, instead of writing in the file itself;
For project-save, the file must be in the omegat/ directory with the name project_save.properties: here you can see that you can have only one such access in the project, while you can have more than one for the previous cases;
For other-language memories, the file must be in tm/tmx2source and have the name of a language, with properties extension. This one is implicitely read-only.
To generate the contents of the file, you have three possibilities:
If you downloaded the plugin from here http://www.silvestris-lab.org/node/17 then the archive contains some samples with explanations about the meaning of each parameter;
If you installed the HTML creation server (3-H), or if you use the web interface from the SaaS (tutorial here), you have one link which enables to generate the configuration file, then you simply copy it to the correct location;
The wizard can call the XML creation server (3-P), list existing memories, and put the correct file in the correct location.
