As this is a new feature, 3.6-BETA and 3.7-DEV are concerned.
The window which enables to search in a directory does not have the need to have a project opened, it only needs to have source and target language defined. Moreover, it does not keep segments after search, so you can use it in very large directories, unless it is already filled by a project.
Now you can it in command line:
java -cp OmegaT.jar org.omegat.gui.search.DirectorySearchWindow [source language] [target language]? [directory]? [text]?
This will open only the directory window, the main OmegaT window will not appear at all.
Only the parameter [source language] is mandatory: directory and text to search can be filled in the UI itself.
I participated to the discussion about one ticket in OmegaT's sourceforge. This remains to me one similar ticket which I solved in DGT-OmegaT but which was not reproductible after standard OmegaT 3.5 (and DGT-OmegaT 3, which is based on standard OmegaT 3.6)
I don't say that the problem is really solved but that it should be tested to see if my solution covers the case. If yes, I can produce a patch for standard OmegaT. If not, no need to take time on it.
